  • Gotham Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar

    Lauren Denhartog
Born into something of a steak empire, Gotham steakhouse owner David Aisenstat is no stranger to upscale dining establishments. His father, Hy Aisenstat founded the well-known Hy's Steakhouse chain and David is currently the President and CEO of The Keg Steakhouse chain. The success of The Keg can perhaps be attributed to Aisenstat's core philosophy: a good room, a good name, a core product that is produced well, and a little charisma. Therefore, one need not worry that the Gotham Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar will not live up to its name or the reputation of those behind it.

Considered one of Vancouver's best steak restaurants, Gotham's menu provides little- to-no description of its mains but with all the hype surrounding this posh eatery, perhaps no description is needed. To put it simply: people come here for steak - the finest Alberta beef cooked to perfection with a small selection of sides
Bone-in New York Strip, Petit Filet, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, New York Strip - the steak is so good, (according to one review), the first bite might bring tears to your eyes. Sides include steamed broccoli, battered onion rings, baked potato, spinach and grilled tomatoes. Appetizers lean toward the seafood variety and, like the mains, don't start cheap. Steaks start at $30 but for the best in the city, isn't your special someone worth it?

Note: if you arrive early, the lounge provides plush sofas to take in the live piano music

sweet! walking around on a wednesday night didn't bother me at all after craving fries after hearing about this from a co-worker's ex-coworker. i was craving fries. it wasn't quite pomme frites i've had in french restaurants. but it served its purpose after drinking beer. The 'small size' is good enough for three people as their portions are huge!
