Sometimes, fog and suds aren't the best combination. Case in point: Two friends, we'll call them X and Y, went to a bubble/foam party. Fog and suds enveloped the room, casting a haze over the revelers. As beers went down and wetness ironically engulfed the dry humping contingent, the X and Y lost one another. Toward the end of the party, the friends reunited, or so X thought. Excited and laughing at the reemergence of his soggy pal, X reached up to wipe the foam from Y's face. It wasn't him. Now, the friends stick to brewpubs, like Fogg N Suds, where happily reminisce about mistaken identity and bubbles over exotically fabulous international beer. -S.T.

We thought the same thing. Seems like a nice location. They advertise a Swiss Beer on the menu and then when you order it, they have to tell you it's an information tid-bit. They do not actually carry that beer. And yes the overall selection of beer is poor, even compared to most local pubs. Well, we spoke to the manager and he offered only a half-hearted apology. The food wasn't very good and neither was the service. We won't go back and we live in the vicinity.

I was visiting Vancouver and heard Fog and Suds had the largest selection of beer in Canada. However, after arriving at this bar I found out quickly that most of the beer selection is bottled, not tap beer. The Canadian tap selections were so-so, I asked for a half and half and got pretty much a homogeneous mixture of Guiness and Kilkenny lager (a black and tan spoon was used but didn't help this guy). I kept trying to get the attention of the bartenders to get service which for me is a huge turn off. I would recommend Steamworks if you like a good crafted beer in downtown Vancouver.
