That is the problem with describing this food. If the devil’s in the details, we’ll surely be here for days describing how Posteraro has duped the devil. The tumid scallop was seared rare and tender as a scallop ought to be, and was right at home in the tatin, whose folie were crisp on the outside and layered with sliced caramelized artichoke hearts on the inside. A glass of Sandhill Pinot Blanc underscored the smooth creamy characters of the dish.
My main course consisted of torn basil and stewed tomato over baked Dover Sole served in a copper pan with crisp rapini, blanched new potatoes and zucchini ratatouille. This is a classic dish served at the zenith of its potential. My companion relished a dry-aged rib eye steak served with peppercorn sauce with peas, carrots and rapini.
On and on with the details: the nuts at the bar are house roasted and piquant; the furnishings, exposed wooden posts and beams add masculinity; glasses are filled without you noticing; and “Chef” walks among the tables, stopping with hands clasped.
“Are you enjoying?”

6 Reader Reviews | Tough choice to give this place 4 stars, more like 3.5 only for the slow start with the service. Our server did get better as the night went on, but only after the owner came over and said hi as he knows the person I was with. After that the service was great. Bolognese was in my top 3, veal cheek pasta would be top 2 pastas I have ever had (in Vancouver). THE BEST wine selection but make sure you bring your gold card as there is not much under the $80 mark, wine goes up to $5000 a bottle with dozens in the thousands. Dessert was incredible and over all ambiance is nice. A good mix of local 30 somethings to out of towners with botox silicone wives with fur coats. Dinner for 2 with wine, cocktails and dessert was $247.00 I'll give this place another try for sure.

Consistantly serves the best food, provides the best service and definately is at the very highest level of dining in any city, let alone Vancouver. Great atmosphere, and an excellent location to spot visiting celebrities!!!

Very biased reviewer, as I am an insider!
Mainly wanted to point out that Cioppino's is always open Mondays for dinner and for lunch during the busier seasons. Call ahead to double check.
Cheers!!
