If you want fried chicken or pasta, you can get that anywhere, but if you want Japanese fried chicken or pasta, go to Barefoot Kitchen. It's an odd concept, but it works.

My husband and I love this place. It's cheerful, cheap, the staff are great, the dishes satisfying and tasty, and it's nice to get Yoshoku here. Big bonus is it being 10 minutes from our home in the West End!
There's enough crappy wanna be Japanese restaurants in this city, so Barefoot Kitchen is a nice refreshing change!

Seriously an awesome place in the west end!! what a great addition... im getting sick of the same old sushi place and this was just what the west end needed! the staff are great and so helpful the food is always good. My girlfriend and I have been there about 10 times so far since it opened and will continue to go back almost weekly!

I know the owner there because I used to work with him at a japanese restaurant in Richmond. If you guys get a chance to meet him, he's very classy and nice guy to talk to. I'm going to barefoot for the first time today so I will probably get a chance to talk to him.

Stumbled into Barefoot Kitchen by chance and will definitely go back if not for the fact that i live in Montreal!

Must say that the waitor that attended to us was the best i've ever had. Super attentive, sweet, polite and was willing to do almost anything for us.

I've enjoyed the food here on two occasions and the staff is very warm and you just feel like you can stay as long as you want. I've enjoyed several of the sushi plates.

I came here with a group of girlfriends for a fun Thursday night girl's night out. We shared tapas, and everything we had was amazing. The flavors were great. Our drinks super good too - not as sweet as I'm used to, so actually, it was a better, less cloying drink.
