    Review by Scott Tavener
My friend lived in an adjacent high rise. Our buildings were about 19 metres apart. After a balcony-bound, springtime drinking binge at his apartment, I set out for home on foot. Halfway between the two buildings (the 9.5 metre mark) I sat down for a brief repose. I awoke several hours later, covered in morning dew, and chastised by worm-hunting birds. My knees cracked as I rose to my feet and finished the short journey home. The trip took me longer than it should have, but it was nothing compared to Odysseus's epic post-Trojan war journey home. If it weren't for Athene (Athena) he may never have returned to the dutiful, well-aging Penelope. If only Athene could have helped me that fateful April morning, perhaps I wouldn't have had to endure moderate dampness. Thanks for nothing, big A.

On a vaguely related note, Athene's serves Greek food for culinary journeyers. Expect the standard lamb and pita fare, done with zest and care in a stalwart restaurant serviced by attentive and caring staff. Okay: thank you, Athene. - S.T.

My wife and I went out to Athene's for dinner a few nights ago. I ordered roast lamb for myself, while my wife had a chicken souvlaki. The roast lamb looked delicious when it arrived, though it took a bit longer than I expected (it was very busy at the time), but it was worth it. The moment I put a piece in my mouth, I knew that this was the best roast lamb I've ever had. The tenderness and taste was perfect. I go out and dine often, but without a doubt, Athene's was the best I've had.

My wife's chicken souvlaki looked juicy and appetizing. I could tell that they used fresh white chicken meat for souvlaki. It was quite apparent that my wife enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed my roast lamb.

The atmosphere was great, the area was very clean and the decor was nice. As for the service, the waiter was friendly and polite.

Thank you for a great dinner at your restaurant. I will be back for another meal soon.
