ushi proliferation has made roll-and-fish dining a difficult destination decision (and alliteration). Ajisai, renowned for fresh fish and cramped quarters, demands patience from its patrons. As you wait for a table, stand near diners and apply stare-pressure; that may speed the process. The rolls come tight, and the sea-creatures are dead but, happily, not too dead.

2 Reader Reviews | (Based upon a single visit in August 2007.) The wait is substantial but the fish is very fresh, selection is good, the service is friendly and good... and it's directly across from a medical clinic should disaster strike. (None did while I was there.) The outdoor waiting area is large and comfortable and conducive to conversation, which mitigated the wait time. I had the special chirashi don, which was copious, well-constructed-- delightful altogether.
