Fire :: Mar. 27 - Apr. 19
 ollowing in the ranks of Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, Fire is about to be the new gospel-rock musical on the block. The inspirations fueling Fire stem from the lives of Jerry Lee Lewis and his TV bible-thumper cousin, Jimmy Swaggart. The kin are incarnated by the characters of Herchel and Cale; two sons of a preacher man who live very different lives.
I can almost guarantee that “Great Balls of Fire” and “Son of a Preacher Man” will make themselves heard at some point during this musical. I’ve never understood why anybody would sing about having great balls of fire. It sounds quite painful actually. Then again, Jerry Lee was a pretty “special” guy. –J.T
Tickets are $20 - $89
Bluma Appel Theatre, 27 Front Street East, Toronto, ON
