fter forking up $612.5 million for patent disputes with NTP, Research In Motion or better known as the motherhub of BlackBerry devices has forgot about the past and is shooting up hopes with their new PDAs. One of which is the highly touted, BlackBerry 7130g.
The featured-packed, 48373-n-1 smartphone, comes more loaded than an NRA member. This baby has email, mobile internet, instant messaging, and can support many applications. On top of it all, it is blessed with RIM’s SureType keyboard technology and QWERTY’s intuitive software which combines accurate, rapid phone dialing and typing all while working with a narrorwer design.
Oh yeah, its also got tethered modem support for Ev-DO, lots of memory and data storage, but that’s common nowadays. With a re-engineered BlackBerry, it features a powerful Intel XScale® processor that allows for more “freedom”, Intel freedom. 64MB flash memory is the backbone of it all, but it also boasts with 16MB SRam.
While making the product more efficient and easier for the average users, the 7130g is going with modern and making it all completely wire-free. The upgraded features all go towards the usability on Rogers High-Speed EDGE network, delivering broadband-like speeds in coverage areas.
However, not all is new, such as the layout of the 7100 series which is now working without a keyboard and under a screen much better equipped for the new users. For the businessman, it only weighs four ounces and measures about three-quarters of an inch. For the common blow, it is sleek, stylish, and the intelligent light sensing technology automatically adjusts the LCD and “keyboard” light to provide an optimized view indoor, outdoor, and just about everywhere.
The 7130g tries to do it all and has the common phone features like smart and speed dialing, conference calling, call forwarding, polyphonic and MP3 ring tones, speakerphone, and the newly required for all mobile devices, Bluetooth.
It is really just another all-in-one mobile device that comes with a hefty price tag, but it succeeds in almost all areas, except for the one that washes clothes, makes clothes, and gives back massages. I guess, only time will tell. - B.J. | BlackBerry 7130g
