he packaging is as important as the content. The innovative designers at GelaSkins know this all too well, as evidenced by their signature line of designer iPod covers. These thin vinyl covers do double-duty by glorifying your iPod with an artist-rendered canvas, while simultaneously protecting your precious toy from scratches, dents… cigarette burns (tell me it’s not true).

GelaSkins’ iPod covers are gaining steam, and it’s easy to see why; the wraps are cut for a seamless fit to defend your iPod screen from scratches and general wear, fitting snugly around the unit. The covers are made with high-grade 3M vinyl and patented adhesive technology; ultra-clear and scratch resistant. A glossy coating is then applied to the GelaSkin for durability and a photo quality finish.

What we most love about the protective covers is that the selection from which to choose ranges radically - from intelligent designs to the completely wacky - and it adds virtually no weight or girth to your iPod. When applied, the iPod will still fit perfectly in its dock and won’t interfere with the iTrip or other accessories.

GelaSkins are designed for a single application. They are, however, easy to remove and apply to another iPod. With a bit of care, you can peel it off and re-apply the same skin several times with no problems.

After presenting an iPod wrapped in a GelaSkin (the hip “Vaccine” design by artist Aaron Kraten) to a very happy Ryerson graduate - prompting shrieks of joy for days - we can certainly see why the spotlight is pinned on this young creative firm. - A.J.
