Marc Marmel, a remarkably progressive designer whose work pushes the traditional boundaries, has honed in on vintage Hermes and Louis Vuitton as inspiration to create a luggage collection that looks satisfyingly old and well traveled. The collection has a pre-loved crackled finish, resembling something you may find at a high-end Goodwill, should there be such a thing.
This line of luxury, hand-made luggage and accessories, focuses on practicality, including eight styles of carry-ons, totes, messengers, satchels and duffels. Each piece is handmade in California of Italian imported leather and is available in black, cream, brown and red with beautifully finished brocade linings to match. This set has all the right details to compliment the traveling hipster. They’re pricey (clocking in at $800 - $1735), but these pieces are right on track when compared to other high-end offerings.
