Gear Stick Cufflinks
By Scott Tavener
hen belts or ties indulge in flights of fancy (i.e. large buckles or stripes for the former, piano keys for the latter) they devalue the rest of an outfit. Conversely unique in the menswear accessory world, cufflinks have breadth for experimentation. Ask Homer Simpson. Though we do not suggest wearing pig bride and groom links, the inherent subtly of cufflinks provide room for playfulness; just try not to overdo it. A good place to start: the UK-based Dunhill.
Since the late 19th Century, Dunhill has designed and sold unique accessories and menswear, retaining both sophistication and a hint of whimsy. Its line of cufflinks embodies fun refinement. While the company offers standard silver and gold links (look for rectangles and curves), standouts of the line include a bulldog, a bee, a devil, and other animals/entities. However, our favourite has an automotive leaning.
In my years as a valet parker and, later, a rural resident, I held a dark secret close to my breast: I didn't know how to drive standard transmission cars. An epoch of sheepish excuses and red-faced disappearances finally ended last year when I took up the stick. And then I discovered the Dunhill Gear Stick Cufflink.
Emblematic of my triumph, these cufflinks are what they sound like (i.e. they're in the shape of a gear stick). Although, don't expect novelty clothing-jewelry. Crafted with sterling silver, given a polished finish, equipped with swivel findings, and emblazoned with the Dunhill logo, they're both mischievous and distinguished.
Homer Simpson probably won't pass these cufflinks down as an heirloom and that's a good thing. That said, lighthearted class requires the right context else it devolves into kitsch. Thus, wear these with a cleanly cut, thin suit, though try to avoid driving with them (it's a fine). -S.T. | Gear Stick Cufflinks

I agree these are nice but Id rather get three pairs for the price. There are a couple of places where you can get some affordable cufflinks online like Linkyourshirt.com that has something like 2000 pairs on their site! I think they're in Montreal as well
