Tumi T-Tech Pulse Laptop Backpack
By Richard Trapunski
et’s face it: society is changing. What did people do before cell phones? It’s almost unfathomable. Nowadays you lose your Blackberry and you forget where you live. Technology has evolved, making it essential for storage to evolve with it. Backpacks and luggage no longer carry only books, paper, and pens – now they are essential to carry laptops, phones, iPods, jet packs, and ray guns. Travel and Business design needs to adapt with the times. Tumi has accepted the challenge.
The T-Tech Pulse line offers a luxury laptop backpack designed for the 21st century. Yes, you can still carry your files in your backpack (or your notes if you’re a student), but if that’s all you keep in there then you might as well just buy any old thing. If you’re going to spend something in the vicinity of $300 for a backpack, you’d better damn well be getting your money’s worth.
What makes the T-Tech Pulse so valuable is its focus on functionality and also style. If you buy a Gucci handbag, it’s not because you think it’s the most practical way to carry your belongings; you buy it because it’s in fashion, it connotes something about the person who owns it. If you buy a backpack, you need it to be sufficient enough to carry your stuff. But in the case of T-Tech Pulse, it also makes a statement.
Now I know what you’re saying: “It can talk?” Well no, but the way this thing is designed, I wouldn’t be surprised if it could. One of Tumi’s main focuses is on durability. If you’re carrying expensive and fragile technology, you don’t want it flopping around without protection. That’s why T-Tech Pulse is constructed out of high-performance, abrasion-resistant hybrid nylon and protective trim, and has a section with extra padding designed specifically for a laptop.
But, unlike some models of laptop backpacks, this bag is neither boxy nor uncomfortable. In fact, just by looking at it, you wouldn’t be able to tell there’s even a laptop inside. This is a great way to avoid theft, because what thief would want to steal your copy of Harry Potter and your Transformers thermos? They’d be more inclined to steal your backpack for the backpack itself.
A laptop isn’t the only thing you can carry in it. There’s also a file section, an organizer panel, a vented water bottle pocket, and an accessories pocket. But probably the most important of them all is the ‘media’ pocket, the safe haven for your mp3 player, phone, or whatever other little devices you might be carrying with you (I don’t judge). It’s also located very conveniently so you never have to be too far from your precious devices.
Tumi has really thought of everything here. They’ve even made an effort to ensure that despite all the stuff the backpack is designed to hold, it will be easy to carry and won’t cause neck or back problems. The shoulder straps are padded and ergonomic, and the bag can also be carried from a top carry handle. The future is now. | Tumi T-Tech Pulse Laptop Backpack
