Molecule 01

 n one of the more unconventional fragrance to launch of late, Molecule 01 is a scent that, when introduced to your own body chemistry, is subtle in more aspects than you'd expect in an Eau de Toilette. Made from an aroma-chemical called Iso E Super - which is more commonly used in household items like shampoos, detergents and floor-cleaners - Molecule 01, by Escentric Molecules, isn't really a fragrance at all, but rather a solitary synthetic liquid that eventually becomes a scent. In other words: the idea of a fragrance.
You can't don't smell anything at first spray, but shortly a fragrance will be built based on your own DNA make-up. Molecule 01, which comes in a simple, no-frills, laboratory flask, merely hints at clean and smooth sandalwood notes, but of course it reacts specifically with you. Because Molecule 01 consists of nothing but the pure aroma-chemical, the product is allegedly more of a pheramonic effect than an aroma.
As a "single molecule that you can wear on its own", the scent will vanish, only to re-surface after some time. The sweet cedar-like fragrance is decidedly sensitive to body chemistry and unravels as it evolves throughout the day, giving an indistinguishable radiance to the wearer.
Molecule 01 is part of the Escentric series, a collaboration between the Berlin based perfumer Geza Schoen (the brains behind the fragrance for Clive Christian and "Infusion" for Bombay Sapphire), and two London operations: emotional branding experts ThisCompany and MeCompany (the firm behind the graphic work on Bjork's album covers).
Molecule 01's hyper-fragrant initiative strives beyond mere physical sensuality toward a spiritual erotic. But judging from the A-list celebs – Madonna, Kate Moss, Elton John – that are buying up the stuff, the (non)scent is destined to be cult favourite for the critically chic. - D.E.

1 Reader ReviewsI purchased this product by it's reviews only and certainly have Not been disappointed! It truly is unique to each wearer! It was dubbed "Love Potion" and my boyfriend certainly agrees! He smells it and says he just wants to devour!
This is certainly now overtaking my long-standing favourite perfume for top ranking and I will buy as many bottles of Molecule 01 as I can lay my hands on!
You will not be sorry with this purchase, I guarantee it!
