 he Nicholas Metivier Gallery website describes Tom Hopkins' paintings as "a synthesis of a contemplative experience of imagination and desire." I have no idea what that means, but I'd imagine that it has something to do with Hopkins being a genius. To me his paintings appear dark, brooking, and slightly impressionistic. They are gorgeous to look at and Hopkins clearly have some dark issues being worked out below the surface. Cool beans.—PB
