Toronto Galleries
ess Riva Cooper's sculptures are of people who have emotions and boldly gesture their mood and intentions towards you with their intricate facial expressions and bodily formations. Her little people interact with one another and display movement and credibility with their form and colour. Marjolyn van der Hart's paintings are displayed alongside Copper's, yet take on an entirely new direction; her acrylic on canvas is for romantics and suckers for detail. Her figures blend in with their surroundings, yet pop out at the same time, often cited to be reminiscent of an impressionist style. – M.K.
