Toronto Galleries
ome think that noir photographs such as those of the Sanchez brothers indicate that the artists behind them are really deep, while others worry that they are seriously disturbed. Regardless of what you may think, it is undeniable that the photographs are phenomenal. The Montreal-based duo conquers issues of identity, physical discomfort and fear with their chilling photographs, which are based on both personal experiences and real-life events. Sounds like post-modernism with the underlying context of realism - oh what a connoisseur I am of scopic regimes... in the nerdiest way. – M.K.
