lori, a stem of Luxottica, the world’s largest sunglass manufacturer and retailer, has opened up a new shop on Bloor Street - where Far Coast used to be. Sadly, Coca Cola doesn’t make very good coffee. Nonetheless, the Luxottica brand is moving into the high-priced 'hood, promoting its “special relationship with light,” which sounds like they’ve been hitting the smack on the regular. Take the name: Ilori. This is an African word that means “special treasure.” My point exactly.
All quips aside, if you’re in the market for a pair of Chanel, Burberry, Bulgari or Miu Miu shades consider the shopping experience Ilori has to offer. The owners want you to feel like you are buying art; turning this location into this location into a shrine of sunglasses. Display cases are suspended from the ceiling, showcasing the “special treasures” inside.
Crystal chandeliers and expensive checked floors decorate the space to further encourage you to part with your cash for a hot pair of shades. The store carries just about every designer brand available from Anne Klein to Versace. Luxottica knows the game; Its summertime, and hung-over sunny mornings are no fun without a pair of $$$ shades.
