There are plenty of places to blow $200 or so on a $40 bottle of Grey Goose - but if it's the latest display of high-echelon pretension that you're aspiring to, look no further than Club V (or clVb). This boutique Yorkville nightclub launched Friday night, with Irfan Bukhari (interior designer of Budo, Red Drink and Fluid) in the driver’s seat.

By whipping the 5,600 square foot space that once housed PWDs and more recently, Momentos, into an “upscale members club,” Bukari’s aim was to inject new blood into Yorkville. Evidently, the diminishing interest in Momentos had forced a few good men to push the envelope with brisk results: The subterranean space is now tended at the half-lit doorfront (marked with a velvet rope) by a bouncer who served as a guard dog in a prior life.

If the mandate was to make a nightclub to complement the surrounding boutiques, Bukhari fulfilled this brief with some complexity. Inside, the waffled blonde-wood walls, cylindrical lights, and heavy and squat cocktail tables are offset by a liberal application of Bisazza rose mosaics and a continuous flow of illuminated candles which, reflected in the mirrors, create a warm amber hue.

The party unfolds in a series of sections, the most impressive of which is the strip of raised bottle service booths that take over one side of the space, overlooking the dance floor (lined with hundreds of tiny disco balls). About 60 bottle-buying clubbers can be accommodated at the banquettes pulled up to low tables, and another group can further seclude itself in a back section that can be curtained off. There are three bars in the space, all staffed by bartenders who have been styled by Salon Jie’s assistant creative director, Beni Sicilia.

A small nibbling menu is available, featuring the goods of Massimo Philobes, (LaVecchia, MoDo and Monte Cristo). And sommelier and mixologist Steve Campagnolo, who has just come back from a stint in Manhattan, is responsible for the creation of V’s signature and classic cocktails list.

I needed to blow off some steam and cash in style ... I heard of a place called "V" was supposed to be suave... Not too sure what crawled up miss Anna's ass but i too happened to be served by the notoriously lovely Meagan...(by the way thats a unique way to spell Meagan no? anyway) The service was impeccable, people gorgeous except those few.. but isnt that why we all drink so much??? all in all my mission was accomplished I had a remarkable time and was very impressed with the atmosphere... oh and Anna not sure how often you like to grace Toronto with your presence which apparently is not often.. not to know Gratuity is almost always automatic but I happened to see it right there on my bill... which by the way... your Welcome Club V :)
In closing I loved V... I loved Meagan... I love Toronto..

    Peace yall...

I attended a venue at Club V, only to be completely insulted. Not only were the majority of the people there far out of line in thinking too highly about themselves, but our service was awful. I would like to directly point to a server named Meagan, who waited on us in the utmost disgusting manner. She took her tip automatically from us, and even commented rudely on a friend of mines attire. I would just like to let you and many of your fellow staff that you are working in TORONTO! You are not high class celebrities no matter how fancy you try to dress, or how nice you try to look. You are incredibly rude, and have turned many people off of this club. You are lucky you have a job, cause with an attitude like that, you will never get hired again.
The food was great here, thats all.

This place is nothing special, reading the overly positive reviews made me laugh. Upon entering, if you don't duck you will smack your head on the stairway ceiling... The club is in a basement and it really does have that basement feel, low ceilings and a very enclosed feeling. The kind of place that Mini-Me would probably feel big and comfortable in...

Went to CLUB V the last 2 Fridays. This guys not only have a busy Saturday, they also made it happen on Fridays. The Music was incredible, bottle service out of the ordinary and it was busy. Yorkville it's becoming a great place to party with elegance.

I attended Club V this past Saturday. The place is quite classy with many beautiful people, but I found that the atmosphere wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I found the crowd to be very clique, and the music was very dated. Our meal was spectacular! We also had a bottle of Grey Goose which added much flavor. We did have a waitress who was not very attentive to our table. She did however give her name Meagan, which help when we needed service, and had to inform other servers.
Overall, our experience was decent. I would return, but it would not be my first choice for an outing. I think that the staff should be better trained, or should be more attentive to customer needs.

Went to Club V last Friday. The atmosphere was a very quiet one. The music was very original, as was the decorating inside. ALl this talk about Club V made me think that I was going somewhere that was going to be very posh. Our server Meagan was nowhere to be found at times, and we had a hard time getting the service that was expected, and would have been expected by anyone.

Overall, I would say Club V is not complimenting Yorkville at all.

I had never heard of Club V before, I saw a posting on another Website. I check it out because Lunatics of Sound (St.George & Gmoney) were playing.
My friends said I should check them out.

The atmosphere was nice not amazing but nice. The drinks were a bit pricey but atleast we bypassed line and cover by saying Lunatics of Sound at the door.

It was a very cool goodlooking crowd. The Djs were just amazing! clean mixes, lots of tricks and they kept rotating the music. They were flawless all night!
I will definatly go back every Saturday....the Dj even gave me a cd when I told him how great the music was.

Went to club V on Saturday. The decor was terrible and the crowd was not much better. Midway through the night there was a fashion show. I would love to know who the designer was as the outfits were the most laughable creations I have ever seen. (Wouldn't be surprised if they were designed by the same designer as the club).

I couldn't believe how unimpressive the club looked for being located in yorkville. We were in one of the private areas that had glass cases along one wall housing bottles of champagne. I felt like I was in a bowling alley sans the bowling trophys.

    Definitely would not return.

Went there on a Saturday with no expectations. Lucky for us we had bought a few bottles for someones birthday, so we had an area to sit down. For others, they had to walk around trying to figure out if the booth next to us was empty or not. Well its not like it mattered anyway because the club was pretty empty (I would say maybe about 100 or so people).

The DJ was new and it was his first night playing there. He was playing a lot of House (Trance and what not). The only problem was that a lot of the songs were not familiar to the crowd, so most people were just around. When he played regular commercial music people got up and danced. The only genre he played outside of House was Reggaeton and that would only last for about a 3 or 4 long set then back to House. So I went up to him and asked if he could play for some Deep House, Old School House, or R&B (the ladies were asking for it), but he said he had none at all. He did play one Hip-Hop song though, but by then the dance floor cleared so he went back to House.

The place doesn't look like anything too special. It looks like the 2nd floor of Inside!!. The only exceptional thing was the service. The dude kept coming by to see if we had enough clean cups (I guess he had nothing better to do as the club wasn't busy at all).

If they want this to be an exclusive members only club, they have to step up to the plate and create something more like an Ultra. If not, they'll also close down like the clubs before them. I'm not going back anytime soon.

How much did they pay those below to write what they did?

Honestly, the place is no different than any other club/lounge in Toronto. The people there are the same every week (which is good for business). Most of the people there are also regulars at Ultra & Century.

The decor of the place is not "amazing." It feels like you're in a friends basement at times.

Also, what is with the people posing for pictures holding the bottles of Grey Goose, are you ten? (However, you see that at like every club now!) There also seems to be more and more students frequently the place.

Best Party in the city on a Friday night.
Very posh venue, friendly yorkville crowd, bottles were not too expensive and the out-of-town friends we brought had an amazing time.

Best time i've had at a club in a long time. It's different from most richmond st. places, alot cleaner and crowd more mature and friendly.

Went to Club V last Friday with some girlfriends and has an Amaznig time. Such a beautiful place, and staff was great. We didn't have a problem getting drinks (good service)and after a few martinis each just danced the rest of the night. Took a break on the patio and talked to alot of ppl, very friendly crowd. I would recommend this club on friday nights. Going back next week for a friend's Birthday!

I feel sorry for the guy that went there hoping to see JT. I was at the same party and had a great time. Honestly it is the new hot spot in toronto. Prices are great at the bar and bottles are crazy cheap. There's no club that beautiful, high end, upscale with those prices in T.O.
Do not think about going to V twice it is the place to be for a great night out. Thanks to Sergio,Mark and Carlos from CLUB V for hosting the best saturday night in town.

Worst bar I have been to in recent memory. Last night we had a ticketed engagement at CL{V}B billed as a White Party, hosted by Justin Timberlake. First of all, that is most blatant case of false advertising I have ever seen, because obviously JT wasn't there, nor was he ever expected to be there; he wouldn't be caught dead in this place. Secondly, the place looks like a teenager decorated his parents basement to look like a night club. Honestly, tiny disco balls? The music was an eccliectic mish-mash of top forty, hip hop and house with no flow, constantly leaving the people on the (mostly empty) dancefloor confused. And finally, the bartenders were the SLOWEST I've ever seen. 45 mins to place an order at the bar! It wasn't even busy! They just didn't care. I've never seen barmaid wobble so much on her stilletos.. And the bar was COVERED in dirty, used glassware; I mean covered, there was no place to put your drink down, because there were used glasses EVERYWHERE. I will never go back.

The place is hot! Just what the mature crowd has been waiting for. Something very similar to clubs in Los Angeles and Miami. Very intimate, Room to move around, good mixture of people. The door staff is very persistant in keeping the esthetics proper. No rift raft.

    Good stuff

Finally someone get's it in Toronto! People really don't mind paying an exra buck, as long as they get the service they are paying for, and the service at V is top shelf. Not only is this place beautiful, but the whole staff is very professional. I will return without a doubt.
