Pre-renovation, the Pisces Gourmet, the fresh fish shop looked no better than a pared down, walk-in refrigerator; now the space is a slick, modern sushi counter. The store has increased in retail space by 40 percent and will better be able to serve its customers - not just by having more room to wrap the fish, but by actually having space for prepared items as well. I'm not saying that Rosedalers aren't the do-it-yourself kind of crowd, but I'm sure they won't be turning their noses up at the store's offerings of poached salmon, garlic shrimp, cooked lobster, Icelandic scampi, or crab cakes. For those who like to keep things status quo, worry not: Pisces still carries all of its classic items: sushi grade tuna, wild salmon, smoked mackerel, and more.
