t's official: menswear is on fire. Valentino says so, and Dolce and Gabbana are going to open their first men’s-only store – so it must be true. Men are discovering how a great it is to be a shopaholic and are taking it all the way; it was recently reported that sales in men’s fashion out-weighed women’s in France for the first time last year. Enough of wearing the same jeans and t-shirts day in and day out; enough with stuffy one-dimensional styles in suits that make all men look the same – taking care of yourself and looking sleek is the new hobo-chic bedhead; there is a revolution in the making with menswear, and Stonehouse wants a part of the action.
With the new menswear retail location opening in the downtown core at the Eaton Centre, the company's apparel visionary and founder, Glenn Stonehouse, explains why his store stands out in the crowd and has something special to offer in this ever-changing urban fashion fiesta of a world we live in. "Men are more influenced by an increased awareness of pop culture, thanks to a greater interest in TV, movies, magazines and the Internet."
The store, which shares its founder's name, offers exactly that to its customers. Stonehouse is not your run-of-the-mill suit shop, but rather offers premium quality suits with classic, yet contemporary styles and cuts to flatter their customers' charming bodies – ooh la la. The store yields its own brand as well as other brands known for their quality and style, such as Andrew Marc, Robert Graham, Agave Denim and more.
Stonehouse emphasizes that you have to pay a little bit more to get the quality that appropriately represents who you are – and they know that their customers appreciate that. The prices aren't outrageous though, with suits available for $695. Stonehouse is committed to treating the customer like a king with a cutting-edge space to shop suggesting a gentlemen's club feel with dark, rich wood mixed with stone and leather textures throughout, and experienced and knowledgeable staff on hand, prepared to wait on your every hand and foot.
Pampering is a good thing, if not a necessary element to have in your life in order to remain sane in the hustle and bustle of an often mundane, routine life.
