One of the questions that plagues many a Toronto urban planner is what to do with the most coveted realty corner in the city – Yonge and Bloor?
A Kazakhstani developer (insert Borat jokes here), Bazis International, has realized that one of Toronto’s most important and underdeveloped areas (specifically the south east corner) would look much better with a $424-million facelift procedure (as would any corner in the city, or aging Hollywood celeb).
This particular phallic enlargement (bigger is better, so goes the male mentality), set to start building Fall 2007 and completed by 2011, is a lot more impressive than just a nip and tuck. We’re talking 80 stories here; a mammoth building that will rival any condo, making number one Bloor Canada’s tallest residential structure. The 100,000 square-foot centre podium will house major retailers to possibly rival the famed Holt Renfrew Centre nearby (nothing lowers prices better than a little healthy competition). Part of the building will be an exclusive 120-room boutique hotel, and the top 58 stories will be reserved for some of the most drool-worthy real estate in Toronto.
