hopping for a wedding dress has been parodied too many times for most people to actually believe it is always a great experience. However most brides-to-be still set out on their biggest shopping mission with hope, often only to have their dreams of finding the perfect dress dashed by unhelpful sales staff and a painful lack of selection. Enter Wed Bridal, a 2,300 square foot bridal gown and accessory store created by a former bride whose own experiences helped shape her business.
Dismayed, disheartened and dejected by a lack of appropriate gowns and the stress of trying them on, Jo-Anne Stayner decided to enter the game with her own angle. Finding an appropriate space at 3882 Main Street, she went on to source designers she loved and renovated the space to be comfortable for those shopping with an entourage.
“They can go into their own room with their moms, sisters, and bridesmaids so that they don’t have to stand on a podium in the main room with someone’s aunt telling them what they think of the dress,” said Stayner.
Palazzo, Modern Trousseau, Liancarlo, Renella De Fina, and Tigerlilly Bridal Accessories are all available through Wed Bridal, as is a little bubbly for your crew to quench the thirst from all that oohing and ahhing, in case you forgot your own.
With ample wall space to fill, Stayner has invited local photographers and artists to showcase their art, given it has some kind of wedding theme. She also runs her online Polaroid snapshot business Adesso Instant Photo Guest Books through the store, giving customers yet another option when creating their big day. With plans to expand the fashion lines in coming years, Wed Bridal has actually managed to create a pre-wedding experience sans stress - who woulda thunk it?
