he paint's not even dry on some of these spots. But, here's the scoop on the latest openings — from a new Italian eatery to an identity change-over in Yorkville. Each of these new spots are vying for separate downtown scenes— hair product hipsters, big spenders, and brandy aficionados. Eyebrows will be raised with a few of the changeovers, but rest assured you can seek recluse in at least one of these new spots.

With all the attention around the gorgeous Terroni Adelaide Street location, the old Victoria outpost quickly got forgotten. But Owners Paolo Scoppio and Cosimo Mammoliti have been quietly making way for a new updated Terroni in its old digs. In addition to touting their new toque, Victoria Terroni will sport a completely new look and concept - though the name will remain the same. However, the Savoy, located just down the street at 253 Victoria, is dunzo. The restaurant shuttered its doors early September.

Chalk one up for Yorkville, as it gets a Toronto's first Andy Thê-Anh (83 Yorkville Avenue) boutique. The flagship location, which takes over the old Audio Excellence Yorkville space, is the Vietnamese Canadian designer's latest step toward world domination. Carrying his latest creations, Thê-Anh brings inventive style to his eponymous store with the latest runway ready styles and other fashions for everyday women's wear. Andy Thê-Anh opens today.

Well, this one didn't last long. Yorkville's Imperia turns into Blü - tonight. After a year of trying to churn some life into Imperia, Franco Agostino has liberated the space to new owner Alfredo Rodriquez (Alley Cats). Not much has changed with the interior, other than a complete revamp of the heavily trafficked washrooms. Chef Enzo Perricciolo, who takes over the kitchen, has created a menu that's an Italian French mix. Got plans Friday night? Crash the Grand Opening party.

Agostino, meanwhile - the man behind Banffi, Il Posto, and Cafe Doria – still has his little homespun Franco's, at Yonge and St. Clair.

Over on Queen Street, David's Tea has opened its doors in the old Juice for Life space adjacent to Le Chateau. Culling stock from around the world, David's offers approximately 120 loose teas - it has a loose-is-best dogma. Look for a heavy rotation of flavours, with new varieties debuting perpetually, from the hard-to-pronounce to the familiar. On the same block is Liquid Nutrition. This little spot opened last Thursday, serving up protein shakes to body builders and area hipsters to beat Sam Hell. We're not talking bottle service or extensive champagne offerings here, just simple nutritional supplements in smoothie form.

The old Oasis Spa in the Distillery District is ankle deep in construction for A Taste of Quebec (55 Mill Street, Building 36). The specialty food boutique is the brainchild of Joanne Thompson & Sylvain Landry, who run the eponymous Thompson Landry Gallery next door to the space. Chef JP Chalet's (Bouchon, The Fifth), has come on board, eager to churn out a shrine for artisan cheese, terrines, patés, gourmet oils all from La Belle Province. It's the kind of place, hidden out at the end of Queen, where you imagine homesick Quebecois holed up. A Taste of Quebec opens in the Distillery District in late October. - DE
