Stuntman Killed On John Woo’s Set
While this incident is not quite as extreme as the helicopter crash that killed actor Vic Marrow and two children on the set of John Landis’ segment of The Twilight Zone: The Movie, it will certainly be a black mark on Woo’s career. After the infamous Twilight Zone incident, John Landis’ career never quite recovered. The once exciting and innovative director retreated into a career of safe mainstream comedies. Landis was always best at comedy, so he was able to carve out a new career, but if Woo loses his desire to film complicated action scenes, that will probably mark the end of his career. Production has currently halted on Red Cliff, but given the amount of money invested in the project, cameras will inevitably start rolling again soon. This is an undeniably tragic incident and one can only hope that the final film will be strong enough to appropriately honor the memory of those who were harmed during production. Another shitty Ben Affleck action movie ain’t gonna cut it this time Woo.–PB, News Extensions | If you enjoyed this article, you should also check out | | Movie Preview: Bill Maher's Religulous [Full Story] | | Steve Jobs Unveils Apple 3G iPhone for $199 [Full Story] | | Apple 3G iPhone Comes to Canada on July 11 [Full Story] | | Movie Review: Don't Mess With the Zohan [Full Story] | | Spiderman Will Return To The Big Screen [Full Story] | | Hillary Clinton Quits Presidential Race [Full Story] |
