    Party Season: The Best Pre-New Year's Eve Parties
    Page 1 of 3
    New Years, Shmew Years. By now, we all know which parties will be taking us over the bridge from 2006 to 2007. Until then, are we supposed to sit around and drown in boredom? Do we really want to spend a thousand hours with family, with no escape route in sight? What about those of us that don't even celebrate any religious holidays? Does Toronto shut down from Dec 22-30? Hell, no. We at Martiniboys.com have decided it is important for you to know what the most pumpin' parties are during this unfairly ignored time period…

    Fri. Dec 22 :: The Active Christmas Holiday Party :: Blue Point Oyster Bar
    Who says that you can't party in style and enjoy music at the same time? Blue Point Oyster Bar is serving food and drinks, cover is free and the lineup is impressive: Jelo, Sydney Blu, Robb G to name a few. And, as a last-ditch effort to get off the naughty list (yeah, right), donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank are encouraged.

    Admission is free (bring a donation). Doors open @ 9:00pm
    Blue Point Oyster Bar, 291 King Street West, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Fri. Dec 22 :: Christmas in the Underground with Dennis Ferrer :: The Great Hall
    Who likes deep underground house? Who doesn't? The rumour is that The Great Hall, one of Toronto's legendary house music venues, may soon close down. Perhaps we should all go and pray for our house. Sorry, I had to put that in somewhere. As another point of intrigue, there is an after-party, but the location won't be announced until that night. So if you want, you can party 'til 6:00am. After all, sweat is the best way to wash off all of that built-up stress.

    Admission is $15-20 and $5-10 for post-party. Doors @ 9:00pm
    The Great Hall, 1087 Queen Street, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Fri. Dec 22 :: Derrick Carter :: This is London
    There's something about This is London during the winter season that makes you feel like you're partying in a giant, snow-bound, English countryside manor. Combine that with 4/4 beats from Chicago DJ, Derrick Carter and you have the type of party that your grandmother has nightmares about; that's a good thing.

    Information @ 416-351-1100. Doors @ 10:00pm
    This is London, 364 Richmond Street West, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Fri. Dec 22 :: Deko-Z and JJ's Wicked X-Mas Party :: Footwork
    Over the past year or so, Footwork has matured from a fledging, hit-and-miss, bare wall spot, to a club that effuses a constant flow of kick-ass. Featuring prize giveaways from Santa (busy man) and a solid hair-in-the-face rhythm, it should be materialistic dance utopia.

    Doors @ 10:00pm. Footwork, 425 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Sat. Dec 23 :: Winter Blanche :: The Docks
    Winter Blanche, a fashion show and concert, featuring R&B singer, Cassie, at the Docks aims to satisfy with House and Hip Hop in two rooms. Fashion, models, and music? If you aren't into that, then you aren't human. Get the hell away from me, monster; you can't have any of my egg-nog martini!

    Admission is $20. Doors open @ 9:00pm
    The Docks, 11 Polson Street, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Fri. Dec 23 :: Cross the Trax X-Mas Hop :: The Gladstone
    Want something a little funkier in your stocking? If you're into hip-hop, funk, old school, electro, mash-ups, dance, blaxplotation (whatever that is) and kitchen sink, the Gladstone's Cross the Trax X-Mas Hop may be the party for you. Don't hate, baby. Join in.

    Admission is $5. Doors @ 10:00pm
    The Gladstone, 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events

    Sat. Dec 23 :: Superchumbo :: Sonic
    Tom Stephan, who started his career opening for Danny Tenaglia, is the draw at Sonic on this particular cold night. A progressive-house DJ based in the UK, Stephan is famous for his on-stage persona, Superchumbo, as well as his well-publicized two-year relationship with Pet Shop Boy, Neil Tennant. Chumbo, super chumbo.

    Tickets are $20. Doors @ 1:00am
    Sonic, 270 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON More Parties and Events
