n case you haven’t heard, there’s a new Indiana Jones movie coming out on Friday. I know the studios have been trying to keep quiet about the release of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, but believe it or not, it’s on the way. The movie is a guaranteed hit and audiences are already excited to see Harrison Ford throwing down a bullwhip and one-liners this weekend. The movie has the potential to open with a record high $150 million plus weekend. It will be a huge hit, so obviously a follow up is already being discussed.

Speaking to Fox News, George Lucas let it slip that he’d like to continue the franchise by focusing on the new character that Shia LaBeouf will play in Crystal Skull. "I haven't even told Steven [Spielberg] or Harrison this,” Lucas said, “but I have an idea to make Shia the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie.” Spielberg and Ford are probably going to want to be involved with this potential project, so nothing is official until they sign on. But their lack of direct involvement certainly didn’t stop the bearded flannel shirt-lover from producing several seasons of a Young Indiana Jones TV series in the 90s, so it shouldn’t impede him this time either.
