Four New Canadian Restaurants Set the Trend

Admittedly, it took a long time for Torontonian's to Get the supper club concept. With some wonderfully ballsy clubs hitting the scene - including Ultra Supper club and unsurprisingly short-lived emulations like Forget About It Supper club - the latest entry is none other than Maro. Daringly enough, this badboy is located not in the downtown core, but in an amped-up warehouse space in the Liberty Village.

Indeed, the Liberty Village is far removed from the restaurant and club scene. However, geography is immaterial to interior as Maro takes you on its own cultural expedition. Clocking in at 14,000 square feet, this monstrous venue soaks up every recent trend in global hot spots - from cuisine, under the rule of Chef David Adjey, to its Asian décor overload.

Meanwhile, in Montreal, local maître d’ Claude Glavier and Chef Jean-Yves Naud are very busy. Le Grand Café’s alum teamed up with some fellow grads to get their latest eatery off the ground in something of a classic style.
