inally, you can literally have dinner above the plebs, just like Zeus and his godly cabal - or the Care Bears. Dinner in the Sky is set to make its Canadian debut.
The Belgium-based Dinner in the Sky has hosted events in major cities across the world, including Dubai, Johannesburg, Las Vegas, Paris, and London. In Toronto for the first time, the unique experience will kick off Summerlicious. Seatings begin on July 2nd, running from 12:00pm to 7:00am, and continue on July 3rd from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
Elegantly dangling - that's the best kind of dangling - from a crane 35 metres above Yonge and Dundas Square, 22 patrons per session will enjoy meals, care of celebrity chefs Mark McEwan and Anthony Sedlak, whilst gazing at the cityscape.
Strapped in to seats at a large table affixed to a 9x5 metre platform, aloft feasters will watch chefs whip up meals while floating near the firmament. Brought to you by American Express, card holders get an advanced crack at tickets, though non AMEX users are not forbidden from making a reservation.
With McEwan and Sedlak aboard - again, literally - you should expect inventive contempo concoctions. Furthermore, the 19+ nature of the event ensures skyward imbibing. Try not to drop your fork - also try not to stroll about under the platform - and make sure to hit the restroom before ascending.
