Commute Homes has designed both the furniture and the décor. The chef's table, a 15-20 seat experience, is already garnering buzz in the industry. Located right in the kitchen, Claudio's tasting menu will be much like a tasting lab. "We're really doing things food first," Aprile states. "I really think that the food will rival that of any high-end restaurant." Hanif adds, “There will be things that will be completely crazy…think progressive. Global…My driving force is that I want this to be a forward-thinking restaurant"
The design by no means belittles the culinary work. In fact, great things are bursting to happen in Aprile's kitchen. To be sure, Aprile and Harji are generating a restaurant that will speak exclusively to a certain generation and a particular public. If you are not a fan of fine dining in a re-imagined, turn-of-the-century space, or a soundtrack courtesy of Pink Floyd and the Cult, then you may be out of your element. But, if you find the prospect of fun dining adventures appealing, Colborne Lane is sure to be a visual and gastronomic jubilation.
