There are few things that bring the working masses joy quite like a long weekend in the summer. Day after day the three-piece-suit crowd trudge into their offices while children play in the streets, mocking them for not have 8 weeks of sweet, sweet summer vacation. It's a painful experience that has probably led to more sudden acts of violence and colossal psychiatrist bills than any other injustice forced onto society by the working world.

Fortunately every now and then the faceless workers are treated to a Monday off. For 24 hours they can enjoy the breezy freedom of summer again and look back fondly on a time when daily schedules for the months of July and August were limited to "getting up" and "going to sleep." You don't want to waste these precious summer long weekends. They are too few and far between to be allowed to pass by without notice. That's why we've decided to offer you a guide of things to do with your precious long weekend. Find an event that tickles your fancy and enjoy the freedoms of summer. On Tuesday you'll be marching back to hell. Take these three days and live.

    Osheaga Festival 2008
There are several worthwhile events this weekend, but none that are quite as exciting as Osheaga. On Sunday and Monday Montreal will be overwhelmed by the likes of The Killers (meh), The Black Keys (sweet), Cat Power (mmmm…Cat Power), Jack Johnson, (ugh), Broken Social Scene (indie-tastic), Iggy and the Stooges (heroin-licious), and Gogol Bordello (awesome, just awesome). Buy a ticket and strap yourself in for 48 hours of shear musical bliss. The line-up is incredible, the weather is beautiful, and it's Montreal, so the booze will be flowing. Just try to have a bad time here. It's physically impossible.
