  • Veda

The pulsating beat of Indian tunes, the spicy scent of curry, and the constant flow of people coming in about out of this Yonge Street address can only mean one thing: Veda (874 Yonge Street) has arrived. It didn't take neighbours long to pick up on the scent of Veda’s Dhaba combos.

On tap are combos with mixed vegetable curry, chickpea curry butter chicken or sang chicken ($5.65). The beef Madras was hot, spicy and virtually inhaled. We found ourselves wishing we had gotten two orders. A shiny but slightly plain room provide a relaxing atmosphere to wither eat there or take out, but there are no two ways about what the crowds are here for. - R.B.

Yum! Healthy, affordable, and fast. I really liked the flavors - the spice levels were perfect for me. I'm so thankful to find an Indian place that doesn't make me feel ill after eating there. Veda was really good!

I passed by Veda a couple weeks ago on my way home from the gym after work. Since then I've eaten at Veda a couple times a week. It's the perfect meal - mmm the butter tofu! It's light and healthy, perfectly spiced for me, and affordable too! My only complaint is that there isn't a lot of seating and sometimes it's full when I go. I wish they'd open a Veda near my work too!

I stumbled across Veda on my way home from the gym a couple weeks ago. The food was great - light, spiced perfectly for my taste, and healthy! And the price is right too!! I stop at Veda a couple nights a week after work on my way home from the gym. It's a great meal and I never feel stuffed before going to bed. Only one complaint is that sometimes I want to sit and there aren't any tables available. Open one downtown near my work too please!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is chic and elegant, with friendly service, but unfortunately the food tastes terrible, inauthentic and bland. While I laud the attempt to be healthy, I suggest adding more spices and cooking the chicken properly (not overdone) would add flavor.

Veda is amazing! The food is so light but yet overflowing with flavour. I've been there twice now - tried a bit of everything and have been impressed both times. Reasonably priced, healthy indian takeout - definitely worth a visit to yonge and bloor!
