    Review by Amy Chung
Urban Herbivore can make anyone go vegan, even if it is just for only a day. Being the sister restaurant to Fressen, the popular vegan boite on Queen West, this eatery serves up some savoury soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Acting cooperatively, owner Stephen Gardner, encourages his employees to create their own dishes and in turn, get bonuses for their creations. – A.C

My new favorite restaurant- Urban Herbivore makes food that's highly delicious, and that it's nutritious is a bonus. The Cinnamon Pear muffin, the size of my head- was unbelievable.

Very reasonable, I want to try everything.

Finally went in there after walking by so many times - the staff was totally friendly and accomodating. Had the sesame tempeh sandwich that was recommended to me and it was delicious - I have never been a fan of tempeh but this time it was done right! The sandwich was massive and felt extremely healthy - for $7 it was enough for two meals. Also picked up 2 soups - squash with carrot and potato leek that were both so creamy you would never know they were vegan.

Got a muffin too - it was huge and also uber-healthy looking but actually ended up being really salty - chalk it up to a one time mistake.

If you are in the market you have to check it out.
