5 Reader Reviews | While the food here is great, be prepared to deal with some of the most outrageously horrible service on this side of the world. We've eaten here many times, and each time, had to deal with wait staff that acted as if they were doing you a favour serving you (despite generous 20% tips on each visit...not even sure why I bothered tipping!)
Even worse, they once turned me away *from the restaurant* when I tried to order takeout one night (they were busy), and hung up on me when I called in on another occasion to order takeout (apparently, this time, they were "incredibly busy, and had to go")!
So, until the owners realize that their understaffing/grumpy server schitck isn't working, I'd recommend avoiding it like the plague.

While there is a great selection of burgers on offer, as some others have mentioned here, the service is terrible. We waited almost an hour for our burgers, with no apology, and when they finally did come, one was cold! The wait staff were so inattentive we had to actively search them out for more drinks, and then again for the bill. There are much better places to go for a burger in the city where you won't be forced to wait for such a long time, and experience such awful service. This used to be one of my favourite joints, but after several bad experiences, I won't be going back.

Too bad the quality of the service does not match the quality of the product. There's ALWAYS a mix up and/or delay at the Yellow Griffin - either they bring you the wrong burger or side dish or you wait an hour and a half for your food. If you go, be prepared to wait. The staff don't seem to care about the customers' concerns, whenever they screw up the order, you never get an apology. I'm not sure if that's arrogance or incompetance. The burgers are delicious, but go at your own risk!!

I have been to the Griffin many times and the burgers are amazing! I always get mine as a turkey patty but i have been with others who have had beef, bison and chicken and they have all enjoyed. If you go, please experiment and get something other than the banquet burgers! Their sweet potato fries should not be missed. Despite the awesome burgers the service is very slow. Often there is only one server working when the place is full. It can take a verrry long time to get any service. So, I have to really really want one of their burgers in order to brave the long wait.
