    Review by Don Ellis
I’ve got a theory about the Vogue Room’s insemination: At some point during a global sojourn, replete with extended stays in NYC and Australia, brothers Lonnie and Corey Powell developed a taste for international club life. The boys finished off their bottle of Dom and proclaimed, “Dude, let’s just bring it.” Next, they devised a checklist of must-haves: a slick space, DJ-driven beats, tapas-size bites, and champagne, lots and lots of champagne. Hence, the Vogue Room.

Firmly ensconced in Toronto, the brothers, with the assistance of father Eric, scoured the city for a slick place in which to bring their dream to fruition. Industry friend, Bobby Guy, tipped the boys to a prime spot across the street from his Mod Club theatre. It was perfect.

Taking over the old Alto Basso location, the Powells gutted the space and installed custom lighting, Brazilian hardwood floors, low-slung ottoman seating, and cocktail tables. They lined the front area with dining tables and chairs, and filled the back with low-rider lounge seating, thus creating an intimate alternative. Vogue’s soft palette and myriad textures produce a dimly-lit scene, highly conducive to tapas sharing and bubbly sipping.

Assertively quirky, the Vogue Room is a love-fest for all things Champagne. A dining area that doubles as a full-on lounge boasts a smooth glass and bleached wood design scheme. As slick looking as any of its uptown rivals, first impressions of this neoteric joint are encouraging.

I came to the Vogue for a U of T alumni party expecting an ordinary establishment and found it to be a celebration of life instead. We celebrated everything that night! We celebrated being together, our sexiness, people getting engaged, getting married and getting more fun than we ever expected.

The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to serve. Ask the female bartender to make her own creation of the Martini called the Jordan. Awesome Martini. I love the mix of music, the dance floor was a blast and the food was worthy of Iron Chef America!

I have gone back several times! I love going there because everyone is so out going! I don't know too many places in Toronto where one can go to a restaurant and strike up conversation with total strangers and at the end of the night walk home with a few more friends than what you started off with!

The owners Lonnie and Corey have a great spirit and love what they do and it shows. There passion and commitment to making the Vogue Room a high-end but affordable multi-destination hot spot is demonstrated through their top quality service, their exquisite selection of fine cocktails and champagne, and wicked selection of fun dance music! The stage has been set and we as patrons of the Vogue Room will now take our places in the funnest spot in all of Toronto.

    Go NOW! Celebrate! Have FUN!

We stumbled upon your restaurant/ lounge while walking to Cucinas and decided to try this instead. Outcome of it!
Great space..I really enjoyed our evening at the vogue room. Service was good, food was fantastic! We had some cajun calamari to start..very crisp not chewy! Good dip too! Mary had the tandouri salmon with dill sauce. It was flavorful and yummy because I had some too! I had the New Yorker and it was done the exact way I wanted...medium. Very good!
Champagne F word was a delightful beverage. Thanks Vogue Room Staff...we will be back.

After reading a few reviews from here, i decided to check out the Vogue Room. We started our night off at Century Room (amazing) then moved to Ultra (even better), and ended up at Vogue Room on my account. The music was not up for much, the crowd - questionable, and the service was slow. Needless to say my friends were not impressed with my choice, or rather, lack of judgement. The drinks were medicore, nothing to write home about. The Decor was nice, but not what i was expecting. It seems as though some of the comments left on this board have a hint of bitterness in them - perhaps a little corporate involvment? just a thought.

I dont know what chris is whining about, i went there for the first time on saturday, had an amazing time. I went there with my girlfriend and a few of her friends, found the space beautiful, the staff accomodating and the music was old skool house, funk, and classic r&b. Most desirable upper class establishments charge the same, so i didnt find the drinks overpriced at all. in fact i found them quite reasonable. The one thing i agreed with, was the champagne cocktails, what an amazing alternative to the martini. The Hemmingway was my favoutite. I am planning on having my 30th bday there and would reccomend this place to anyone with class that wants to enjoy a night out somewhere where they are not crammed into a room, treated with disrespect and cant hear themselves think.
There are too few places that cater to the 25 and up crowd. The Vogue Room, is on its way to becomming a destination.

I don't know who exactly has rated this bar so highly, but i would defiantly not recommend it to anyone. The service was disgraceful, the atmosphere was not up to par, and the drinks were ridiciously expensive. The only pro to this bar would be the Champagne cocktails, but not worth the trip to college. Aside from these minor details, our night adorned with music circa 1995. The dance floor is located in the basement of the Vogue Room ; very 1991 my high school dance. The only thing missing from this bar was the prom king.

went there on saturday, they had a special guest d.j. from chicago and one from the u.k, there was a writer from a d.j magazine doing an article about 80 of the best bars in 80 different cities. I never had such a great time. there are two floors, so you can relax upstairs and mingle with the crowd, or go to the private room downstairs and dance the night away. Its refreshing to be at a venue where the vibe, the people, and the atmosphere are all positive and create a real destination for people to go and let loose and have an amazing time.

went there last night, amazing party, the music was sick. i never had a champagne cocktail so yummy, the staff treated my party like we were the only ones there, made all of us feel really special. Little Italy has a new kid on the block, who knows how to do things right...
    THANKS Vogue Room!!

went there last weekend, thought the place was amazing. Reminded me of the bars i went to in New York. Had a bottle of Dom with some girlfiends, and danced my ass off the rest of the night.. Julio if you cant afford to go out, stay home in your parents basement and drink a six pack. The last thing a girl wants to hear is someone crying about something they cant afford. Go down the street to duffs for cheap drinks loser.
