Time for strong drink? The Local does not disappoint. More or less a typical pub serving ales and finger foods, there’s a few things that distinguish it from other beer and wings joints. The swirling manicured evergreens and black slated wood frontage contrast well with its ostentatious golden lettering. Pushing the pub-fare envelope, oddities include blue cheese garlic bread and Cajun meatloaf. There’s also live bluegrass and Celtic music to stomp your feet to, and the confabulations reign supreme to clinking glasses till the wee hours.
Featuring delicious pub fare such as perogies for $7.95 and Quesadillas for $8, you won’t break the bank with these prices. The restaurant hosts typical pub eats, with a twist on modern and unique flavours. For example, the Sexton Stir-Fry combines asian veggies and tofu, served on a bed of rice noodles.
If you’re looking to expand your pub horizons past chicken wings and nachos, why not give The Local a try? I know, we all love our comfort food- but since they feature a combination of new and old favourites, no one will be pouting in the corner. Not even Baby.

2 Reader Reviews | I've been to this place a few times before and on the whole the service was ok. Although upon my most recent time there I had the most terrible experience. Not only was the bar staff all over the place, not following up with orders or checking to see if we were happy with our meal, but they wanted to charge us for 3 drinks we never even ordered. The excuse was that we were drunk and that we couldn't remember what and how much we ordered. Having two drinks each, I'm sure there couldn't have been a mistake. Trying to rectify the bill we were told we that we didn't know what we were talking about, and that we should leave.
All in all this place is the pits. If the staff can't remember a simple drink order for 4 people, and take 20 minutes to get a drink it's not worth going to. Save your time and money on this one as you'll find a million other great pubs on Roncesvalle!
