And the Grapevine is just that, no more no less. But there is no jacket required at this hospital cafeteria, and you won’t be getting any Coq au Vin for lunch today.

Heavy arborite trays, tuna sandwiches, self-serving toaster. But you can fill up a platter from the salad bar for $3.50, and there are plenty of brand (Pizza Pizza, Campbell’s Soup, etc.) names. And, frankly, considering that we don't strive for exotic when gazing into glass cabinets full of prepared Jell-O, it's oddly familiar and reassuring to be in a sterile environment where should you be in the need of a Heimlich or other such maneuver, the boys from the emergency wing are just down the hall.
