t’s no longer Easy; it’s simply The Fifth. Based on the long-proven Miami social club scene, The Fifth Social Club combines all the elements demanded by Torontonians who love to indulge in the finest accoutrements that club life has to offer. Formerly known as Easy and the Fifth, the space has undergone a facelift allowing for new elements to revitalize the space.
The venue itself is a solid repackaging of the schematics that made the original so popular in the first place. When you enter The Fifth, you have a few options of enticements from which to choose: The main room is pure club, with a warehouse look and feel that promotes a healthy drinking-and-dancing vibe. Changes in the main room include an inventive concept for the DJ station; now located in the middle of the service bar, the DJ mixes it up alongside the bartenders. A raised level of VIP tables line the outside of the room, keeping the clientele in the mix with a vantage point of all that goes on within its confines. The VIP section is pure bottle service, so be prepared to drop serious dime.
To soften the fabric, the complex throws us Black Betty, a small back area bar with a carefree, Rock n Roll atmosphere, attracting the younger set. Black Betty offers a fun environment with no dress code, making it a good fit for those vintage jeans, some Jack Daniels and a pack of Marly reds. SDR (Sex Drugs + Rock and Roll) has moved their popular Thursday night Rock 'n Roll party here, while the other nights are still getting their footing. The newly decorated room has a cool biker bar vibe that complements the rest of The Fifth.
The reason of the re-packaging of The Fifth Social Club was obviously to lure the well-to-do professional crowd back to the grounds they inhabited a few years ago. The restructured atmosphere allows for a mid-twenties clientele to mingle and dance the night away next to a still-hip, older crowd. I expected to notice some separation between the two but this was not the case. It was a pleasant surprise and allowed for a diverse party experience. I find this is what gives The Fifth a mature yet hip edge.

A completely anti-american place. What a disgrace. I brought some tourists from the U.S. here on Friday night. I called earlier in the day and they said if I get there early we do not need to be on the guest list. We arrived at 9:15pm. The doorman, he looked Indian or South American, looked at us and said it was only guest list tonight, yet he was allowing others in with no guest list. I told him that my friends we tourist from the US for a conference and this was there first time in Canada. He said "SO?". I asked if there was a way to bypass the list and he said "I already said you are not getting in and that's the end of it". One of my friends, a female PH.D in there 30's told him this was her first time in Canada and he did not have to he so rude. Unbelievable, he said "Well, go back to your county". The other friend, also an American said "What?" Then he said "Go bomb some other country. We don't want you here". To say we were shocked by his behavior would be an understatment. Needless to say my friends are never coming to Canada again and are going to tell everyone they know about what racists Canadians are. They have traveled all over the world and said have never been treating in such a derogatory manner anywhere. At a time when we are doing everything to attract tourist to Toronto, we have people like this insulting them on there first visit to Toronto. But I guess that's how the owners of this place want the doorman to treat people so he was simply doing what they told him. I have already written a complaint to Toronto Tourism, the Mayor's office, the Tourism Ontario, and will tell everyone I know how The Fifth Social Club treats tourists. I am truly ashamed the that The Fifth is located in Toronto.

This place better get it's act together before people get tired of it and move on to someplace better. First of all, the idea of being on a guest list is to avoid the hassle at the front door. Not the case at the fifth. The bouncer in charge of the guest list admission was dumb as a doornail, and couldn't keep anyone or anything straight. He also said things like "just because you received an email confirming your spot on the guest list, doesn't mean you are on the guest list" duhhhh huh?
The DJ, didn't seem to want to have anyone dancing, approximately 20 seconds into a great dance song, he would abruptly stop the song and go back to some inane techo beat and totally kill the vibe in the whole room. This happened repeatedly.
Where can a gal go in this town to dance to good songs??????

Probably one of the most over rated bars in the city. This place used to be good (5+ years ago). Now the clientele is just a bunch of has-been losers who seem to go there to pose down in their cheap suits.
