It’s no longer Easy… It’s just The Fifth. Based on the long-proven Miami social club scene, The Fifth Social Club combines all the elements demanded by Torontonians who love to indulge in the finest accoutrements that clublife has to offer. Formerly known as Easy and the Fifth, the space has undergone a facelift allowing for new elements to revitalize the space.

The venue itself is a solid repackaging of the schematics that made the original so popular in the first place. When you enter The Fifth, you have a few options of enticements from which to choose: The main room is pure club, with a warehouse look and feel that promotes a healthy drinking-and-dancing vibe.

Changes in the main room include an inventive concept for the DJ station; now located in the middle of the service bar, the DJ mixes it up alongside the bartenders. A raised level of VIP tables line the outside of the room, keeping the clientele in the mix with a vantage point of all that goes on within its confines. The VIP section is pure bottle service, so be prepared to drop serious dime.

To soften the fabric, the complex throws us Black Betty, a small back area bar with a carefree, Rock n Roll atmosphere, attracting the younger set. Black Betty offers a fun environment with no dress code, making it a good fit for those vintage jeans, some Jack Daniels and a pack of Marly reds.

SDR (Sex Drugs + Rock and Roll) has moved their popular Thursday night Rock 'n Roll party here, while the other nights are still getting their footing. The newly decorated room has a cool biker bar vibe that complements the rest of The Fifth.

This place sucks. "EASY & THE FIFTH" or "The Fifth" is the worst club in Toronto. This gay bouncer wouldn't let us in for a birthday party (when the club was empty) just because we didn't order bottle service. Our group was already inside. The bottle service guy was a prick for no reason. The door bouncer actually let us in and the bottle service fag pulled us out of the line to pay cover. Don't know what his problem was but I flew in from Chicago just for the party. Ruined the night and my trip to Toronto.

Went to the club last Saturday and had an amazing time. The service was great from the moment my girlfriends and I got there until the moment we left. The crowd is mature 25+ and the drinks are reasonably priced. I would def. recommend this club to all those that are looking for a hassle free fun night out.

49 bucks for a below average Rib eye. I've eaten all over the world - this is 40% MORE than pricey places in NYC that 3 or 4 levels higher
Torontonians shouldn't put up with crap like this...its frankly embarrassing
The owners should be almost as ashamed as the suckers who go to this place

I recently celebrated a birthday party there and I have to say the service was absolutely amazing! I was worried about them messing up the guestlist VIP stuff but they pulled through!

I got a booth so that's probably why there wasn't a problem and my friends and I did look good! If you get a booth the service is amazing! Serve everything perfectly and refill all your drinks before they're even empty! Complimentary goodies at the end of the night are also a perk. It's also nice having a decent washroom at a club, which is maintained. Nothing to complain about in regards to that.

They are a tad discriminatory though as to who they let it. Some of my friends came a bit later and weren't allowed in. I had to come out and speak to the bouncers briefly and the rest of my party didn't have a problem getting in.

The crowd is mature so fights are not an issue! The music is well versed; they play a bit of everything! The drinks are a bit pricey and if you don't have bottle service getting a drink can be a bit difficult. The only real issue I had was their guestlist policy. They only let you put down 10 people under one name even if you do have a booth.

Overall, a great experience and a place i would definitely visit again!

We were at the fifth for a family's friend's celebration, having a good time when at the end of the night they lost my buddy's jacket. after a whole run around and having to stay to the end of the night, they gave him a number a said to call back. well it's been now almost a week and no call back no matter how many times he's called.
He's a professional working downtown at a financial firm, he would be the Fifth's typical and target VIP, and to be treated like some kid who's trying to rip them off pissed off his buddies and work colleages alike. SCREW the fifth and their unprofessional and shady management.
Richard Bailey the GM can kiss our asses, all of the financial market owners.

Visiting Toronto from New York City I was thoroughly impressed with this place, we had a fantastic dinner upstair in a breathtaking setting and then came down to the club where we danced the night away!! Cheers to Toronto and The Fifth!

This place has turned into a very anti-"social" place! Gone are the days of a sophisticated clientele. We got there just before 11p.m. and the bouncers made us wait over an hour and still, we didn't get in (at which point, we just left). Instead, only those buying special v.i.p. passes got in no problem. We even witnessed the head bouncer handing out what looked like cocaine to a fellow client.

After three (3) attempts (2 via email and three phone calls) to get on the guest list two weeks before our event for Saturday January 12th, 2008, I finally got confirmation from RSVP(Toronto)rsvptoronto@the fifth.com on Thursday January 10th, 2008, two days before our event. They confirmed that the list was under my name for a total of 20 people and provided all the information. I forwarded that email on to all guest in our party, so everyone would have the information and there would be no misunderstandings. My job is complete, I did everything to a ‘T’ as instructed in the club manual right...everything is good....the stars are aligned...nope that's not the way the evening went.

We get to the Fifth on Saturday night, pay our $20 parking fee, only to find out that we aren't on the list at all. No apologies, no suggestion of human error, no smile; just a flat out dismal and a turned back, with the excuse that I gave attitude. My attitude was complete shock, because I had confirmation, and didn't think that this would happen, I followed the game plan, this shouldn't have happened, our at least that’s what I thought. We even got the “are you sure you emailed the right club, because there’s a Fifth in Miami”. Are you joking me? The only comfort is that we were not the only people that this was happening to. I apologize and feel for anyone else that was in the same situation as us, because their wasn't just me who got the "your not on the list" and I'm not the only person that received "email confirmation that they were on the list". That night The Fifth didn’t just lose our business but they lost a lot of other people’s business also. And only because I couldn’t justify lining up and spending money in an establishment that really didn’t want me and my guests there.

The whole situation left a bad taste in our mouth. It left us disenchanted with the whole Toronto club experience, this isn't the first time that this has happened. Read my review for Maro. My friends and I are over 30 and seriously clubs always say ‘mature client only’, but then turn around and treat us like we are in grade school, how insanely insulting. We know the tricks in the club manual, we've been clubbing for long enough, but at a certain age you just figure that you don't have to play that game any longer. You follow there procedures, you go by their game plan and you still get shafted, and shafted without a smile or an apology. My error was that I didn’t print out my confirmation and have all my guests do the same, so that way it showed that I did do my part and I wasn’t just saying I was on the list, with no proof that I actually did email the club. A valuable lesson learned.

Here are some suggestions to club patrons that are going out to enjoy an evening and think their evening is fool proof:

    1. If you played the game right and went by the club manual and received confirmation from the RSVP@suchandsuchaclub.com, don’t just rely on that email, print it out and bring it with you and let your guests do the same. I wish we would have done that, and will do so in the future.

    2. Have a back up plan, because the stars are not always aligned.

    3. Don’t concede; make sure your voice and concerns are heard, because seriously we wouldn’t let a matter like this go unheard if it had to deal with a clothing, automobile or retail manufacturer. We would complain and get results.

Here are some suggestions to the club owners:

    1. We pay too much in cover and in drinks to be treated the way we are treated. The over 30 crowd still has a large disposable income for bottle service, VIP service and for just going out to entertain friends from out of town (our friends were from NYC and stunned at the treatment), treat us with some form of respect. Have a system in place were confirmations can be verified. Have the person that takes the RSVP@suchandsuchaclub.com have them be there the night handling the guest list with their laptop.

    2. If there is a bouncer school; teach the bouncers how to smile and reject people with a smile, empathy and an apology or offer a solution. What was truly disenchanting and added insult to injury was the fact that when he said we weren’t on the list, he turned his back on us. We then got to witness people whom he knew say that they were on the list (which he never checked) and handed them the guest list card. Not once did he offer us a little card, not once did we get a solution to our problem!! I believe people would take it a little easier to deal with when something like what happened to us happens if a solution was given. I realize that in most cases it isn’t Mr. Bouncers fault, but it sure as hell becomes their issue and the wrath of god they get from patrons is due to their lack of social grace.

I’ve also attached the confirmation email to this review, just because I can.

The Fifth is what a club should be - discriminating at the door, but not overly so. If you are ugly or fat, show up early and/or with a pile of hot friends. Or, reserve a section for more than the minimum. Otherwise, don't expect to get in, at least without a long wait in line. Guest list... well that depends which list you are on. (There are three lists -- if you only know of one, it's the wrong one.) The clientele can range from early 20s to late 50s, and is entirely upscale / upscale casual.
VIP is what The Fifth is all about, and that means buying bottles. That also means reservations, as Bottle Service is most always booked solid. The Bottle Girls are hot and friendly, and they will do their best to meet most any special request.
I've been partying at The Fifth since it was Easy, and I've never had a bad time. The staff, from bartenders to barbacks to doormen, are professional club workers - they bend backwards to make a party happen, but they won't take bullshit from anyone. If you act like an ass, you will get your ass handed to you. But if you just really want a party like you can't get anywhere else, The Fifth is your first, and best, choice.

Went to the Fifth for dinner and it was terrible. They night started with them serving my pregnant friend vodka after she specifically asked numerous time for a VIRGIN Caesar, they messed up 2 out of 6 appetizers and forgot one altogether, I don't know where they keep their garbage but everytime a side door opened we got a whiff of it, the mains came out sporadically and when I commented to the manager about the poor service his excuse was "There is a big birthday party on the other side". I don't care, when "anyone" is paying $175 per person they should get equal treatment - birthday party or not. The highlight was that we did get free dessert to compensate us and the dessert was actually the best part of the meal. The banana cake is about the only thing worth eating there.

While we were in line 60 people (I am not exaggerating) went through the VIP line even though they had told us the guest list was closed (we were on a list). Then they also started pulling females from the line we were in. These females were in line behind us. Later on inside the bar back asked my friend to move so he can transport the dirty glasses and my friend moved but apparently to the bar back my friend didn’t seem to move far enough so instead of telling him to move back further he pushed him really hard that he lost his balance. At the end of the night we went to get our jackets. My friend had every ones ticket. When my last friend went to get his jacket the lady said she didn’t have his ticket. He was like “No my friend gave it to you” then after a short conversation he realized he had the ticket in the pocket so he gave it to her. Then instead of the coat check women getting my friends jacket she threw the ticket on the ground. Then my friend was arguing with the lady to get his jacket and she called the bouncers to kick him out. Then my other friend found the ticket on the ground and ask the lady to get the jacket and finally after repeating to the women to get it she got it. What a horrible night my friends and I had.

Went to the Fifth last Saturday night. Recently, there has been a change in the clientele, and this night was over the top. It seemed that a crowd of bingo ladies beat my group to the club and were having a kicking time. As well, the DJ was terrible. Sadly, such was only discovered after paying the $15 cover, as unwarranted as it was. We did not stay to find out what would unfold next. Disappointing.
