    Review by Jennifer Toole
The name of The Dizzy Gastro Sports Pub had me spinning with confusion until I had a chat with co-owner/chef Scott Murie. So, what is this place with the cryptic name - a gastro pub or a sports bar?

Murie’s answer was a resounding, “Both! We have eight flat screen TVs stuck on the sports channel all the time and we serve great food." Et Voilà! - the Dizzy Gastro Sports Pub.

Scott, who was previously Chef de Cuisine at BOHO, runs The Dizzy with his brother/partner Chris Murie (previously chef at Mimosa Bistro & Wine Bar). On any given day, one or the other can be found slaving over their signature fare: a revamped pub selection, but with a French twist.

The boys were tired of being faced with over-greased chicken fingers and sweaty nachos whenever they wanted to have a pint and watch the game in Roncesvalles Village. So they took matters into their own hands, and launched the Dizzy hoping to offer a sports bar with culinary class. The Muries' jumped on the fusion train with an entirely original mix: Canadian pub food meets French bistro fare. The results are surprising.

Been here a bunch of times; they open early for Premiership games on Setanta/Fox Sports and you get a good deal on a gourmet breakfast sandwich / coffee / tea.

Food has been great - I keep coming back for the burger, and service is very friendly/courteous. Hopefully more people come to appreciate it since they've started a good thing on the west side.

Good neighbourhood sports bar, perfect to watch a game, good crowd, relatively good food for a sports bar.....and good for the Roncey crowd, its the best.

I have now been going to The Dizzy for the past couple of months and truly love it. It's always difficult to find a great neighborhood pub that is friendlt, inviting and where the bartender always remembers you, at The Dizzy, you always feel like a somebody. The staff are great! The chefs, Scott, Cgris & Callum create amazing dishes and awesome daily specials. The Tuesday Fish & Chips in my opinion can't be beat. Thursday's steak night is truly a bargain and for me the Prime Rib on Sunday's is probably the best meal in the city under $ 10.00. The daily soups are always great.

I know I'm in a sports pub with the t.v's everywhere, the bar and stools but yet when I get my meal I feel like I'm eating at a Yorkville hotspot.

The two biys here have truly hit a home run.It really is a Gastro Sports Pub!! Keep it up...it's my favorite place in the city!

Sort of surprised after reading such good reviews for this Roncey place. I went with my wife for munchies and it was just ok.

The service was a bit slow. The food was ok. Didn't really knock me out, but the bread was good.

Don't think I'd bother going back.

You know those nights when you just want to go somewhere with friends or by yourself to unwind and get some great cheap food, drinks and chill - This is the place to go!

I will travel from Queen East, to have some drinks and food, alone or with friends to Dizzy because it has all of that. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, whether it be from the regulars or the staff. I have always left there full, satisfied and meeting someone new.

The selection of beers and wines are great, unless your on a discovery path of finding a new beer you have never seen before - but there is the beer store for that!

But my thing is the food; here you do not have to sacrifice cost for substance or portion. From what I have tried, the brothers have taken away the greasy spoon part of pub food that you can find anywhere and replaced it with tasty spoon food that will leave you wondering why no one has done this before. My fav is the bison burger, but the vegetarian dishes are great too.

For the urban girl or guy who wants a cool place to escape to and feel chillaxed, this is it. As for servers, Matt is your guy and Laurie is your girl, they rock. But don't forget to meet the brothers, they are great and pure jokes!

The only negative part I can say is that I hope they expand their outdoor seating for summer, so more people can enjoy this place. Oh and one word of warning, don't drive, take the streetcar - for some reason or another you'll end up drinking a little more than you expected!

It is worth going to Roncesvalles to check out!

Where do I begin. I'm not where this spot came from, but it's worthy enough. Beer selection is not up to par yet. I agree but the food in which I ate over the course of 2 visits was AMAZING! Better then the "much cooler" looking places downtown.

In 5 years this place will be an institution.
