echristened The Carlu in homage to the venue’s architect, Jacques Carlu, this historical building has been restored to its original 1930s glory. Located on the 7th floor of what used to be Eaton's College Street (now called College Park), this relic from the heyday of the Eaton family dynasty houses the Art Moderne masterpiece full of spectacular architectural accents such as the original Lalique fountain and restored murals hand-painted by the architect’s wife Natacha.
In a modern capacity, the Round Room, Grand Foyer, Clipper Rooms, Concert Hall and Sky Room are available for private dining functions, award parties, gala events, fashion shows and weddings. From a venue that originally hosted such notable musical greats as Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra, the Carlu houses a place dear to Toronto’s architectural history and cultural future.
