Review by Scott Tavener |
coterie café for bibliophiles, writers, and conversationalists, Tequila Bookworm is a free Wi-Fi refuge, breakfast haunt, and waste-your-day-away destination. Having moved ten doors east, the Bookworm has retained its reader-haven aura, albeit without the welcoming scruff of its former incarnation. Fret not, neo-Tequila has a warm, airy, candlelit glow, and the bookcases are still stocked with found pages aplenty. TB (oh, sorry) continues to offer fresh-fruit smoothies, hot drinks galore, sandwich/bagel options, and huge waffles. Furthermore, following the epicurean trend du jour, the menu has expanded to include tapas. With a garage-door front window, upstairs lounge and patio, and sidewalk sitting space, Tequila has become malleable and versatile. It's the best café on the street. - S.T.
