he Yonge and St. Clair lunch crowd can breath easy once again and refrain from bringing those paper bag lunches, soggy sandwiches, and plastic bags of carrot sticks to save some money when the 12:00pm hunger kicks in. Swiss Chalet is making a much-welcomed comeback to the area by taking over the old Bregman’s location. The old SC location has now been occupied by Jaaadu.
The projected late June opening date means you can start counting down the days until you can afford a quarter chicken dinner or Chalet chicken soup and sandwich on a Kaiser for lunch cooked fresh off the rotisserie without eating into your retirement savings. Of course there’s always been the fast food joints in the ‘hood where a slice costs a mere $3, but is the high cholesterol and extra hours at the gym to work off those cheesy calories really worth the financial savings?
There’s a reason that Swiss Chalet has proliferated Canada’s dining scene for years – great tasting food, a casual and welcoming atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. You know you will still be eating as Swiss Chalet when you’re 90 for these same exact reasons, in the same way that you currently hold family birthday dinners at Swiss Chalet in the present.
Now go enjoy that crispy skin, chalet dipping sauce and delectable rotisserie aromas before giving it a second thought.
