he name of this bar may conjure unfortunate images for you, like a chick with double d’s wearing her workout underwire perspiration stains with pride for example. The moniker is highly appropriate and so is the image for this very neat Ossington bar. The front room is extremely tiny; but, it holds the bar and is therefore constantly packed with thirsty drunks. Patrons find themselves in a personal space situation akin to riding the TTC at rush hour. Having up-close-and-personal encounters at Sweaty Betty’s is an oddly pleasant experience though. Maybe it’s the wicked jukebox in the corner or the option of venturing out of the riffraff and into the larger back room or the huge patio out back. Or maybe it’s the lovely bartender decked out in vintage couture and getting you hammered with a smile and a wink. Ride your bike down and check out this sweat box if you haven’t already because bars of this caliber are hard to find. –J.T.

1 Reader Reviews | Once upon a time S.B.'s did have some charm. Unfortunately, those times have long passed. Now that they no longer have the 'hipster' cred they supposedly despised, there is nothing left but the outcasts of society whom find solice in each others company. So, what do they have left? Absolutely nothing. It is an empty shell filled with misplaced pretenciousness.
I will give it some credit for being one of the first bars to locate itself on the Ossington strip. However, now it is akin to a used and abused cheap hooker who should know enough to quit and cut their losses. That is a polite way of saying that the crack whore should take a long look in the mirror. They should give up while they still retain some untainted memories of the glory days. Presently, it now resembles the uninvited, obnoxious and tactless party guest who drives away all your friends and then passes out on your couch.
