To sum it up, it’s all worth sinking your teeth into, even despite that pesky feeling of Déjà vu. -T.F. |

I recently went to Riva for drinks and appetizers and was happily surprised with the attentive service and excellent food! The servers were very helpful with food and drink suggestions and the overall atmosphere was great! No complaints and I would definitely come back! It is a fun place with great food at a reasonable price!

Based on Martiniboys 3-star rating, we decided to take a chance on Riva Supper Lounge on College Street. What a big mistake. The food was simply dumb, the waiter was clearly bored, the lounge lacked any vibe, the music was tired. My wife and I just realized we had been conned into another wannabe Toronto establishment pretending to be the holy grail of creative food, interesting and eclectic people, funky cocktails and lively vibe. I had a grand sounding "coloured linguini" with tiger shrimp that cost $21 that was so badly done and watery, you wondered if the chef was in a bad mood. My wife had a pasta farfalle that tasted even worse - as if it was poured out of a can and reheated. And it cost $17. Simply put - save your evening and avoid this place. Not even worth a single star.

Another girls-night-out took me and several friends to Riva just last night. Had a fantastic time! The first thing I'd have to mention is the food. The presentation was not only beautiful but the taste lived up to how it looked. All night, all one would hear was the chorus of mmmm's coming from our table. "Must tries" are the calamari and the shrimp appetizers and please don't forget the chocolate molten cake for dessert! Service was perfect by our awesome waitor. Owners even took the time to come around and make sure everyone was happy. Gorgeous room in the back, great place to have a drink after.. can't wait to return on a weekend!

1.Seating was horrible - we were seated just inside the restaurant, with the patio doors open, we were literally less than a foot behind the next table. The waitress had to kindly ask us to move up our chairs in order for her to serve us our food, as well as the table behind ours.
2.The interior was great, but I still felt I was at 65.
3.Food took quite awhile to arrive, even though there didn't seem to be that many diners. we ordered at 9:30. Our first meal didn't arrive til 10:15.
4. Ordered the Tuna Steak, I know that it says steak, but the last time I checked, I didn't have to eat my tuna steak w/ a steak knife. It was quite a tough, and I must have looked ridiculous cutting into it. The waitress (god bless her) must have known I was having a hard time with it, but did not dare ask how it was.
5. Everyone else agreed pricing was a little off for the lack of quality of the food.
6. our Waitress was great, she was very attentive and came by quite often to apologize about the delay and the seating arrangements, and made sure our glasses and bread basket was full, but she gets points deducted for not catching on to my horribly cooked Tuna.
