ed House restaurant is one of many Chinese eateries to take the concept of the dim sum cart and transfer it to a less-intimidating menu form. This is especially nice for newbies to the dim sum game. I myself am one of them, having only tasted dim sum once or twice and probably in a run-of-the-mill take-out joint that in no way represented the delicate techniques involved in making the cushiony pockets of hot, steamy meat or veg.
Red House’s interior is adorned with sleek red and white couches, elegant black tables offset by the gold accents that adorn the walls – your first impression is that Red House is one classy place! The list of Dim Sum choices is staggering and ranges from Octopus Fingers, Sticky Rice in Lotus Leafs and Chicken feet in Black Bean & Hot Pepper Sauce.
If you’ve already eaten too much dim sum this year, Red House offers selections of Chow Mein & Fried Rice as well as a number of chef-inspired wok-fried dishes. If your palette longs for a taste of everything, Red House offers a number of meal combos for two that are all under $25. All combos include soup, appetizer, several main courses and dessert. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
