Review by Ellen Jakobsmeier |
he slightly industrial feel of this restaurant exudes the pioneering spirit of the historic building that’s enhanced with original brick walls and accented bar, exposed ceilings with factory style light fixtures hanging over stainless steel chairs and dark ebony booths.
Adorning the bar is a line of stolls with legs lined up more perfectly than a row of Can-Can dancers, ready to serve oyster aficionados some slippery seafood treats to slurp and suck back during the requisite cocktail hour. Whether the name refers to the pure spirits of the Distillery District or the ghosts haunting the historic building, there’s plenty of bevies on tap to accompany your meal be it oysters, the weekend brunch offerings, or an entrée from the dinner menu. Did I mention there's live jazz?
