You don't have to creep to your neighbour's windowsill, risking a stint in the big house, just get yourself a measly piece of pie. Pie Shack, the newest addition to the Toronto dessert scene not only removes any chance of imprisonment for the sake of pie, it also has the potential to make you quite content.

Despite, ubiquitous competitor Wanda's Pie in the Sky, owner, Tim McConvey, believes he is only show in town. Serving up over 40 pies day to Hogtown's east end crowd, Pie Shack has both savoury pies – including quiche Lorraine, spanakopita, and chicken pot pie – and an impressive card of sweet, fruity and flakey wonders. – E.H
