J ust west of Yonge Street, on almost-hidden Temperance Street, you'll find a humble, easy-to-miss little burger spot. More of diner, really. It's Original Motorcycle Gourmet Burgers, one of the many burger spots to open of late. Taking over the Spices Café spot (you won't have heard of it, but bicycle couriers made good use of it), Original Motorcycle is Fuss Cooper's latest endeavor.
The Original Motorcycle name is Cooper's trademarked label; beginning originally as a clothing design firm, the Indian Motorcycle Company reached outward to become the Indian Motorcycle Café at King and Peter. Alas, the mammoth-sized club/lounge/restaurant eventually closed in 2005. But the brand is back, this time in the guise of a gourmet burger joint at Yonge & King.
Though it's got the generic, grid-like layout and brick exterior of any number of squeaky-clean gourmet burger-and-fries joints, the OMGB space is cute as a button, and is a welcome addition to a culinary Siberia that is Yonge & King. But despite the pompous name, this little eatery has its work cut out for it. For one thing, it's almost invisible, on an almost invisible street. But more importantly, the burgers, while still quite good, are dramatically higher than that of other new "gourmet" burger spots.
The burgers are hearty here, though it’s wise to ask for them a tad rarer than you want them. The Philly is a steak burger that fared the best of the batch, as it is a generous 6 ounces of AAA sirloin. With mozzarella, grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms, the burger was a treat. As it should be, clocking in at $11.95 ($13.95 with fries or onion rings). The Double Cheese is quite average, with Jack & Cheddar and grilled onions. But the Tex Mex burger was a messy delight, with grilled onions, salsa and a heavy hand of guacamole.
The sweet potato fries are earthy and lightly dusted with salt without being overpowering. And the caramelized onion rings, perfectly fried to a crisp, are covered in rich batter shells that don’t shatter when you bite into them—good stuff indeed. Other entries on the limited but ambitious menu are seven Original Steak Burgers (with steak ground on site), seven free range chicken burgers, soups, salads, and "Fussy Wings".

27 Reader Reviews | Great burger and onion rings - anyone who is complaining has no idea what they are talking about. It is pricier than wendys/harveys/hero burger but its a different experience.
For those complaining about the chicken, don't eat chicken at a "gourmet burger" joint... your reviews are useless and disregarded.

i paid almost 12 bucks for just chicken burger....
i got the italian one and it was suppose to be breaded like it said i did not see even a piece of BREADED flakes on my chicken!!!
on top of that the burger was really small!!!!
ridicuously overpriced for the quality and size will never go back and never recommend anyone too either...
pure GARBAGE...

I had the breaded chicken burger today and it was just amazingly delicious, so tasty it reminded me of my Italian mother in law's home made chicken cutlets. just great!
too bad Randy only got me one 'cause i could eat another!

Just back from a terrific lunch on the OMB patio. I ordered the veggie burger, which looked so much like a real burger I almost sent it back thinking they made a mistake. It was massive. I think this place is going to take off in a big way, in a short time.

Just average. There are better spots in the area.

Overpriced burgers. And the owner, if that's what he is, always just sitting there, is just plain rude.

This place crap - I can't believe I paid $20 for this.
Fuss Cooper, I've never met you but my advice is stick to design this not your gig.

Kind of a hidden spot. But it's not at all bad. Good lunch time spot.

It's quite cute. But I do agree... the burgers are expensive. (love the staff! - I thought it odd to read that in the article here... until I went there. I totally agree!)

Had a Motorcycle burger. Thought it was ok. I guess I expected too much from all the other great reviews. There are still a bunch of other places I'd rather go.

In my opinion Original Motorcycle's burgers are not as good as some other gourmet burger shops and as others have mentioned you pay a lot for a very average burger.

Mediocre experience, my two cents.

Good burgers but way overpriced... The food here is very good, the ambiance is nice, the location is hard to get to (I guess because of all the construction nearby) but the burgers are really expensive. Go here for special lunch or something, but not an everyday eating place.

Finally a real "quality fast food " restaurant has arrived. I thought the food and service were both excellent, especially the burger. This place feels more like a cool bar then a fast food joint. I will be back with all my friends.

I have to say, this was a delicious burger, or I mean steak burger, I asked the manager what kind of AAA do you use, he said they grind it fresh and they use ribeye. The sweet potato fries were a healthier choice and were very tasty, I'm definitely going back, it was a little more but it was worth it!

Boring and bland.

It's expensive. It's dull. And as for gourmet burgers, Motorcycle Gourmet Burgers are completely sub-par.

Nice place to have a take-out lunch. Good burger variety on the menu - I have tried the chicken burger and the beefburgers...not bad.
Good spot for us area workers. But yes, it's expensive for just a "not bad" burger.
