Located on the north-east corner of Dundas and Mutual Street, it’s no secret that this bar is located a stones throw away from a rough neigbourhood. However, with the Merchandise building located across the street, the owners of 500 lofts provide most of the business. A higher class, 30-ish crowd already flocks here. By the end of opening night, the counter read over 300 had passed through the door. The DJ spins 80’s hits providing the soundtrack for a clientele as they wander in for Mini atmosphere with maximum drink.
“I used to own a fine dining restaurant with the family,” says George Dimitropuolous, the proud papa of this little bar that could, basking in the inauguration of his latest conception. “And we had a sports bar in the east end… but I feel most comfortable here. I love it!”
George teamed up with cousin Spiro Bouliaras, owner of Mutual Street Deli, to bring Mini Bar to life. Originally heading towards a pub direction, the duo detoured towards martini bar, bringing class to an otherwise unused space.

Checked out Mini Bar last night (after work Wednesdays with David James) and found this spot to be amazing!! Classy yet not stuck-up. The new owners know what they're doing. The D.J (David James) was great mixing deep sexy house and rare soul grooves. The volume was good and at conversation level. The crowd seemed to be 28-40 range. Wednesday is the night at Mini.

Not sure how a concrete slab over garbage bins becomes a rooftop patio! but that's what their advertising! not a bad little place when you're inside, but the patio feels like a green house and overlooks the sears parking lot. heard the owners at the near by merchandise building are continuing to have issues with the owners -breach of city noise by-laws and the like

I actually used to work at Mini Bar for a few months and thought it was a super cute place. Some nights there was a dj and a younger crowd, but other nights the crowd was older and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The interior decor was really gorgeous, and the patio was still being renovated by George (he was always adding something). It's a new place and just needs some time to form an overall reputation and regular crowd. But if you want a good place for a date or to chill out with your friends while sipping on a yummy martini, than I do recommend Mini Bar.

I was at Mini Bar for a private event. The space is great an event with up to 50 people. The staff were great. The drinks were cheap (compared to other DT joints). I'd gladly throw an event there.

Mini Bar is great for getting together with friends and enjoying some tapas-style food. However, if you're looking for a place to enjoy some private conversation, this isn't where to go. But a great place to hang with friend before hitting the College Strip.

Simply amazing. This small, but personable, bar was just what my friends and I needed after a long week. The quiet atmosphere was terrific for sitting back, enjoying a few drinks, and being able to chat while not having to compete with loud music.
The drinks were well crafted and delicious, and the manager / bartender Candy was very friendly and always ready with a suggestion if we weren't sure what we wanted to try next. The one time my wife picked a drink she didn't care for, Candy immediately gave her something else, and didn't charge us for the original drink. I've never seen that before in any other bar.
The prices were also terrific and add to the fact that all taxes are included in the price shown, it made it easier to when you've had a little to drink to figure out the tab at the end of the night.
This place is a gem. At the risk of giving it away and making this place inaccessible the next time I show up in town, I recommend this place to ANYONE who's looking for a fun and relaxing night out in Toronto.

I loved this place! It was a relaxing oasis within the heart of downtown.
The hot, sexy yet down to earth staff went out of their way to make our night the best it could be. I think this should be the new favourite place in T.O., because it is mine now! The drinks are tasty, refreshing and cheap enough to sit and drink for the night, not just the hour! They even give candy with their martinti's! Love that! For the music part, they play a style of groovy, sexy beats that will bring you to your feet. It maybe a bit small downstairs to dance but the patio is another story.

I think there is a new owner - the aweful DJ nights are gone, but the bar is the same old concrete slab of a patio hangs over garbage bins with a great view of the Sears parking lot. It seems like the new owner is trying to make amends with the merchandise building - George certainly alientated them with his teeny-bobber, loud DJ nights. maybe she should have this write-up replaced to give her a fighting chance of making this place successful

Wow! I read the review and decided to check this place out. From the moment I walked in nothing seemed to jive with the articles I'd read. The decor was average, but the view of the parking lot was amazing! There really is no fealling like sipping a $9 martini under a giant red tent over looking a green P, with "Dance Mix 96" blarring in the bakground!
