Remember that episode in Sex and the City where Samantha keeps returning to the awful raw food bar where everything is cooked under 118 degrees so she could down Smith, the hot waiter? Well, Live Organic Food Bar isn’t it, but it does serve raw food.
This cute little spot actually serves room temperature food like “rawvioli” sandwiches and roasted root vegetables spread over balsamic green salad. The stove is barely touched here but it leaves room for creativity. – A.C.

14 Reader Reviews | Food is amazing. I would give this place 4 stars if not for this: One of the servers is among the rudest I've encountered in a Toronto restaurant, but the food is so good that I'm willing to risk some unpleasant service from time to time.
Also, to guarantee a tasty meal, do not order the coffee. I've never had coffee I couldn't drink until Live. I'm open to espresso, instant, drip, but this was awful, sour stuff, unrecognizable as coffee. The first time, I thought it was a mysterious bad batch, but it was the same when I ordered it another time.

Excellent food, somewhat limited menu. Dining atmosphere is nothing special. Service was professional but not attentive.

Food was ok - very nice presentation, but the service was terrible. The waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there at all and we felt that he didn't care about his customers.

Ok Toronto! Time to decide how and what you want to put into your bodies... lets go for HIGH VIBE! - Went to LIVE months ago and have been going back ever since!! Why?? -one of Toronto's ONLY ORGANIC AND VEGAN restaurants!!, GREAT! FOOD! - creative menu - SWEET AND FUN AND INTIMATE ATMOSPHERE... -
All of these are reasons why I personally go back to restaurants - but the biggest is ORGANIC VEGAN!! - this is a very very big plus for those that want to eat out - enjoy patio life in the summer - have yummy desserts - and not take in a wack load of chemicals and pesticides as well!
Staff is fun and happy and uplifting, they are very flexible I have asked for several changes and sides to my orders many times and have always been met with a smile and my needs met!
I give it a 4 star - this is a place that people need to know about

I went to Live in April 2008 with a friend who was visiting from out of town. We both ordered entrees that came with salads. We were served our salads and finished them. My friend got her entree, but about half way through, I still hadn't gotten mine. They were sort of busy, so I assumed it was just taking awhile. However, the waitress eventually came with the bill and I still hadn't gotten my meal. We told her and she went back to the kitchen to "work something out". A manager or something (a blonde, tanorexic type) came out and gave us our bill. They discounted my salad 10% and my friend's meal 10%. That's right, they still charged me for my salad. The woman also told me that "next time" (as if I would go to this ridiculous place again) I should let them now that my food hadn't arrived, essentially blaming me for them screwing up my order and leaving me hungry! I have worked in the food service industry for years and I'd never experienced anything like this before. I was supposed to assume they were totally incompetent as opposed to totally slow? Okay, I'll be sure to do that "next time".
I understand that mistakes happen and sometimes orders can get misplaced or whatever in a kitchen. It would have been fine if that woman hadn't tried to put the blame on me. She should have just apologized and admitted they made a mistake. I also can't believe they thought 10% off my paltry salad was adequate compensation. It was so tacky and lame.

Really enjoyed the food here... very delicious, if somewhat over priced.
Nice glass display at the front to take away pre-made items as well.
They also offer classes.
Lovely. I'll be back.

Went to Live for lunch b/c I heard quite a bit of hipe from friends. we had a Sheppard's pie and Chick peas on rice. I found the portions were small for the price ($11 per entre). The restaurant is quite small, but cozy. I couldn't help, but felt a little rushed b/c there were constant people coming in, but not enough seats.
The taste and quality of food is not bad. The creamy ginger dressing for the salad is amazing. My only complaint is that I'm a small person and still left the restaurant feeling hungry.
